5.2k. Model: Sierra 1.8 LX. Posted 17 August, 2010. If its the 8 valve MPi engine, it's extremely likely that the thermostat has broken up and is contacting the temperature sensor, causing it to give out an implausible signal. A new complete thermostat housing with temperature sensor is around £45ish, part number 047121111S (I think).
The recommended grade from day 1 of Fabia Mk2 is VW504 00 / 507 00 which is 5w 30 FS III (long life oil.) That can be 0w 30 FS III if you wanted. My recommendation which is the Fixed service oil is VW 502 00, 5w 40 FS oil, For less chance of Twincharger oil issues.
This puts together information I have researched, mostly by contacting Skoda Customer Services, regarding the owner maintenance of the Fabia II VRs 1.4. Fuel is 98 octane or above; 95 only in an emergency (prolonged use of 95 not recommended) Oil is Castrol Edge (recommended) 5W-40.
or you could stick using Long Life oil. 0w 20 FS IV or the 5w 30 FS III. This below is for Variable / Flexible Servicing of TSI's since before the WLTP Approval. The bit at the bottom is because VW Group started using VW508/509 before WLTP Testing and approval. so 0w 20 FS IV.
My son recently bought a Fabia 1.4 mpi petrol. On checking his coolant I found that it was contaminated with oil. Is it possible to attempt to flush out system and replace coolant at home or must it be garage time. also is it OK to drive the car for any length of time. cheers John.

Location: Southern Scotland. Model: B8 S4 3.0TFSI + 6R C0 Polo 1.2TSI 110. Year: 2015. Posted 25 October, 2015 (edited) I seem to remember catching sight of the filter on wife's new Polo 1.2TSI, which makes me think that it is down the side of the engine, I have seen enough of it to know that VAG has changed back to a "spin on" metal skinned
Å KODA offers two multi-point injection petrol engines to choose from for the entry-level FABIA, which is a front-wheel drive. These 1.0 MPI three-cylinder engines have a displacement of one litre and generate 48 kW (65 PS) and 59 kW (80 PS) respectively. This is 4 kW (5 PS) more than the engines of the previous generation.
Anyway tons of failure can cause idle problems such as dirty throttle body, dead ignition coils, stucked, opened EGR, leaky intake manifold etc. And of course idle problems usually comes when the engine is warmed up. Maybe you should take the car back to the service station. Model: Ex-Fabia 1.4 MPI.
