But one benefit is the intake stays cleaner without exhaust gases flowing back into it. And if you have egr problems, a blockoff plate is much cheaper than replacing the components. An egr itself can be pricey, along with the sensors and everything else. All I did was put in an aluminum plate between the egr and intake, and plug the vacuum line
I blocked off my EGR and added HLC (Hywy Lean Cruise) where I go to around 16.7 AFR and 42* advanced based on MPH and TPS feedback. In data logging I get zero KCs and they say you'll gain 10% MPGs. As for the argument the EGR reduces NOx, it does. So does a 3-way Cat, which I have.
Apply 5in vacuum to the valve. Using the test jig, use your finger to vary the vacuum. If the engine stumbled or died then EGR Valve and passage (there is a passageway through the heads and intake) are good. If the engine did NOT stumble or die then either the EGR Valve is bad and/or the passage is blocked.
EGR delete. Good morning FTE users. When i bought my truck it had the egr deleted. The egr delete is pretty well done, The cooler deleted, the egr vave gone and closed with a cap, and the big connector that goes under the intake elbow has 2 (or 3) wires cutted. It throws a lot of EGR codes, my PCM was bad but i think that with a fine PCM it

2) EGR Cooler Clogging. Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler problems are also one of the most common on the Ford 6.7 Powerstroke. Itās not as common as with the previous 6.0L and 6.4L engines, though. Ford actually changed the design of the EGR system on the 6.7L engine. The valve lies in the hot side now.
EDHVYSl. 15 posts Ā· Joined 2015. #1 Ā· Sep 23, 2015. I've read a lot of conflicting information about the legality and consequences of doing a def delete. The most authoritative info I found was on some epa (or other government site) that said tampering with factory emissions was illegal for street vehicles and permissible only for off road vehicles.
EGR Delete - Emission Testing. I purchased a non running 2005 Jeep Liberty CRD a few months ago. With the help of this forum (I'm a newbie) I've got it up and running great. Compression Test, Cam Sensor, Crank Sensor, MAP Sensor, Front Control Module, Timing Belt and Motor Mounts. It had a partially completed EGR delete done on it which I
2017+ Super Duty - EGR Unplug vs Delete - So Iām in the process of getting everything ready to put my truck on the delete diet. It's really not that hard I would say I can do it in 3-4 hrs. 5 tops. Im in the same boat as you Powerstroke.I have been shopping the job in the New Orleans area to change the oil cooler and install my EGR delete kit and have gotten quotes that range from 540.00 to 1030.00.They are saying 10-13 hours.Im thinking I can do it myself.I swapped my
Okay, so my EGR took a ****, so I did the delete. I took a damn coke can and cut it up, drew a template with cardboard, bought a gasket for like $4 and got a used spark plug spark plug to cover the manifold (now shorty's) bung for the EGR gas tube Cost me exactly 5 bucks altogether. including the $1 worth of gas I burned going 1/4 a mile up the street to get the gasket.
egr delete good or bad
